Gravity cue snooker, billiards & pool cue from gravitycue .com

Friday, March 26th, 2010

www.gravitycue.com NOW ON SALE
How Does the Gravity Cue Work?
The Gravity Cue is designed to ACTIVELY resist rotation.
Constantly fighting its way back to the neutral position.

Now ACTIVE is the key word here. It is for this reason that the cue has such a physical effect on a players movements, beginning in the cue hand.

Unlike any other cue gone before the ACTIVE response split keeled weighting technology deployed in the Gravity Cue brings the cue to life.

Constantly attempting to neutralise in the optimum position & actively responding to any rotation by fighting its way back to its preferred position.

The way the Gravity Cue acts has a proven physical effect on the players body. The player feels the cue pulling against any deviance off its predetermined settling point.

The Gravity Cue is designed to stabilize the hand & wrist in the optimum position & to respond to any twisting of the wrist by actively pulling itself & your hand back towards the neutral position. This has been scientifically proven – physical & mental effect on a players body movements.

The Gravity Cue’s patented “Anti Twist Active Response Split Keeled Weighting System” causes a resistance to rotation of the wrist. When cueing up to a shot you will be able to feel the cue physically pulling you back towards the neutral position when you twist your wrist either left or right which is what virtually all players do to some extent on most shots. This represents immediate feedback between the brain and the muscles that drive the cue (muscle memory).

When cueing off straight, the bias in the cue feels unnatural & you immediately realise where you are going wrong. A useful example of this is to imagine being on a boat in heavy seas; as the boat sways one way you automatically attempt to balance yourself by swaying in the opposite direction. The Gravity Cue assists you in a similar way. This instant feedback you get can quickly reconnect your old cue action to a straighter one.

Programming yourself to feed the cue through your hand more efficiently and allow the Gravity Cue to work for you & with you.

Feeding the cue through your hand better will also automatically give you more cue power.

Using the example of the boat (as explained above) players of all levels aren’t just re-aligning their cueing arm, they are also re-aligning their whole body due to the simple fact that the body parts are linked together. The Gravity Cue pulls one way & the player pulls the other until the optimum position is reached.

The fact that up to 80% of the weight is closer to the ground when the cue is in the optimum position means the Gravity Cue doesn’t just resist any rotating of the wrist, the drag created also slows down any left to right movement due to the weight shift in the cue lags behind any undesirable movements and therefore reacts later then the hand. In effect, the Gravity Cue doesn’t have as much time to go off line before the shot has been taken.

The combination of anti-twist and a slower left to right reduction in deviance helps to discourage the main reasons why the player strays off line.

There is more force pulling down than a normal cue. This creates a resistance to all movements other than any backward or forward movements, therefore effectively resisting left to right movements and rotation.

Anything that pulls downwards more also creates more drag or resistant forces sideways.
