Shot with my little dinky camera — when the patrons’ away, the kids will play. After closing hours at the Billiards I shot yet another silly “put up or shut up” video — this one of my buddy Colin using my Longoni cue to set the world record in spinning a cue ball — 28 seconds.
I know, it’s juvenile, but at least we had a good time, (sans the pool-hall owner who you can see in the clip picking up one of the many balls that went awry).

Its because the ’solids’, or ’spots’ have numbers 1-7 on them. (8 including the black). Small numbers, hence ’smalls’.
The ’stripes’ have numbers 9-15 on them. Big numbers, hence ‘bigs’.

my friend and I were playing pool and he hit all of his balls in. So he calls a pocket for the 8 ball and hits it in but there were too many balls in the pocket so the 8 ball bounced out and landed in a different pocket. who wins?
YOU win.
Your opponent called his pocket; regardless of mishaps or obstacles, the 8 ball ultimately dropped and STAYED in a different pocket than the pocket he called — loss of game.
Advice: Before shooting any ball at any pocket, be sure that the pocket is clear of balls. You can disperse the balls in the "clogged" pocket(s) into other pockets.

These balls are about 40 yrs old and have been dropped on the tiles floor quite a bit and have marks from the tile on them

some one told me that the 1 ball weighs 5 grams more than all the other ball other than the 8 ball which weighs the less is this true or what is the specific weight of all 15 balls
The specifications for pool balls state that they should weigh between 5.5 and 6 ozs, or 156 to 170 g (see link, section 16). This does provide a range, but certain number balls are not purposely made heavier or lighter than the other numbered balls. Higher quality ball sets will be made to stricter tolerances though.
Some bar box tables will have heavier or lighter cue balls though so the table can distinguish it from the other balls.
