totally agree with …
totally agree with you ..And by the way he does know a lot about shots …I’ve been listenning to those commentators on “star sports” (I live in asia now) and their knowledge of the sport is pathetic … its nice to have a voice like Danny to actually be learning properly about pool as you watch those professional events ..wish he was on in Asia as well..
rodney just plays. …
rodney just plays. other players are all calculated and they have to have everything perfect but rodney just muscles balls in the hole.

i never knew that they did that for who breakes first.. pretty cool shindig
why not just set up …
why not just set up for the 6-9 combination @ 16:00? to me it seems like the 6-9 combination is a lot easier than the setup from the 6 to the 7
maybe its just …
maybe its just because today there is a lot better competition, so its a lot harder to dominate like it was back then
The old guy you …
The old guy you refer to is Danny DiLiberto, one of the greatest one pocket players to have ever played the game, and has been inducted into the hall of fame for his incredible career performances.
Ignorance isn’t bliss, so learn a thing or two about someone before you accuse them for “knowing nothing about shots”.

That said, I would have my money on a circa 1980 Sigel
Circa 1976′ish Mizerak
Pre-stroke Mosconi when he was winning 14 World Championships
and afew others. Fact is Thorsten is nowhere near the dominant straight pool player that each of those guys were in their era’s.
Even today I like Ortmann over Thorsten in a long (500+) straight pool match.

and im tired of hearing about how bad the announcers are. The contention of the commentators is to entertain newcomer viewers, not the rabid pool fan/player. Because the pool playersthat watch already know everything, dont they already know everything

Who’s this old guy …
Who’s this old guy talking…He relates nothing to pool, has the worst examples and does not know anything about shots. These men are the best in the world in pool and they can’t find anyone to comment that knows anything about the game?
olderbluesfan high …
olderbluesfan high run does not matter. his position play and tournament play matter. He’s the best position player since Joe Balsis and that is the basis for the statement of “best straight pool player he’s ever seen” not ever in existence. Hohmann certainly is on the same level as Willie Mosconi, Luther Lassiter and Joe Blasis, but there really is no best player ever.
Best straight pool …
Best straight pool player ever?!!What is his high run?
What a show Rodney …
What a show Rodney put on game 19!!! He’s gotta slow down he gives too many games away.
